Burrow’s Solution is a topical aluminium acetate preparation supplied in powder sachets for dilution. When dissolved in water, it forms a 0.14% aluminium acetate solution for external use.

Aluminium acetate (known as Burrow's solution) is traditionally used as an astringent and antipruritic topical agent. It is commonly applied as a wet dressing or compress to areas of irritated, moist, or uncomfortable skin, including examples such as rashes, insect bites, athlete’s foot, pruritic skin, weeping eczema, or molluscum contagiosum. Use only as advised by a pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Each pack contains 8 sachets. When one sachet is dissolved in 500mL of water, the solution is ready for use.

Directions

How to use:
Mix 1 sachet in 500ml of water to obtain a 1:40 Aluminium acetate dilution. Stir until dissolved. Do not strain or filter solution. Once prepared the solution can be kept in the fridge for up to 14 days. Do not ‘double dip’ a used or dirty compress into solution.

Before you start:
For external use only.
Keep out of eyes.
Do not use on large areas of the body unless directed by a healthcare professional.
If irritation occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Store sachets in a cool, dry place.
